Obsidian Cluster
The Obsidian Cluster, initially settled by the Obsidian Dagger Star Cruiser, is a dark, enigmatic region of the Nexaellion Galaxy known for its shadowy dealings and covert operations. Financed by the underground syndicate “The Black Circle”, this cluster is a haven for those operating on the fringes of legality. With a population largely composed of individuals and groups seeking to avoid the gaze of more structured societies, it's a melting pot of intrigue, espionage, and unregulated trade. The influence of “The Black Circle” is palpable here, with their intricate web of connections and power playing a significant role in the cluster's dynamics. Despite its notorious reputation, the Obsidian Cluster also serves as a sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the galaxy's more authoritarian reaches, offering a unique blend of danger and opportunity.
The Obsidian Cluster is also home to two important galactic species; the Nexari, and the Draal, both homeworlds located within the Onyx Spire Star System. Calling Naxar Prime home, the Naxari are ill-tempered Four-eyed humanoids with intricate societal structures. Their society is heavily centered around familial honor and loyalty. The intricate social and military hierarchies place a significant emphasis on family ties and loyalty to the ruling class thus often leading to disputes with neighboring systems. The Draal call Vornskr home and are agile reptilian desert-dwellers with a memory that spans lifetimes and keen senses unmatched in the galaxy. Their history is an open book, shared through oral stories.
Obsidian is home to Moreno's Gambit, Draven's Shadow, Turner's Crucible, Voss's Sanctuary, Zhong's Empire, Renata's Run, and the Onyx Spire Star Systems.
Is purported the de facto center of The Black Circle's operations
Polaris Cluster
The Polaris Cluster, discovered and colonized by the Polaris Ark Ship, is a testament to the resilience and adaptability of humanity. Financed by the combined countries of the Arctic Circle, this cluster embodies the spirit of its settlers, characterized by rugged, icy landscapes and harsh environments. The people here, primarily from the Arctic regions of Earth, have successfully adapted their lifestyles to these challenging conditions, creating thriving communities that balance traditional knowledge with innovative technologies. The cluster is renowned for its stark beauty, encompassing a range of icy planets and moons, and is a hub for research in extreme climate adaptation, environmental sciences, and cold-weather technology. The sense of community and shared purpose among its inhabitants has created a strong, unified culture that values cooperation, resilience, and respect for the harsh yet beautiful nature of their new celestial home.
Polaris is home to Aurora Reach, Väinö Void, Gunnar's Forge, Halldór’s Haven, Berglund’s Legacy, and Sigurd’s Shield Star Systems.
Paradox Cluster
The Paradox Cluster, established by the arrival of the Golden Paradox Freighter, is a domain shrouded in intrigue and enigma. Financed by a consortium of smuggling barons from the Sol system, this cluster has evolved into a bustling hub of clandestine activities and unorthodox trade. With a population primarily derived from a diverse mix of individuals connected to various smuggling rings, the Paradox Cluster is a melting pot of cultures, each bringing their unique skills and traditions. This cluster is characterized by its complex socio-political dynamics, where allegiances are fluid and the balance of power is constantly in flux. The worlds within the Paradox Cluster are known for their resource-rich environments, making them hotspots for corporate factions and independent operators alike. Amidst this backdrop of secrecy and wealth, the cluster has become a haven for those seeking fortune and freedom outside the constraints of conventional galactic law.
Paradox is home to the Castillian Reach, Kell's Frontier, Lune's Legacy, Malikov's Sanctuary, Magnus Stronghold, and Dubois Den Star Systems.
